Yes. Some women experience mood symptoms that change throughout the menstrual cycle. When this is part of what you’re experiencing, we may recommend a longer evaluation so we have enough time to look at symptom patterns across the cycle and talk through possible treatment options.

Our primary service is psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Supportive psychotherapy may be incorporated into visits when helpful.

We are also happy to collaborate with your existing therapist and can provide referrals if you would like additional therapy support.

Disability forms, FMLA paperwork, and other administrative documentation are completed only for established patients who are actively engaged in treatment with Nueva Vida Psychiatry.

Patients must be under the care of the practice for a minimum of three months before disability or leave documentation can be considered.

Requests for documentation are reviewed as part of clinical care and will only be completed when clinically appropriate based on evaluation, treatment history, and functional assessment.

Completion of forms may require a scheduled appointment.

Please allow 7–10 business days for completion of paperwork.

A form completion fee may apply depending on the complexity of the documentation requested.

Prescription refills are handled during scheduled appointments whenever possible. If you are running low on medication, please send a message through the patient portal at least 3 business days before your medication runs out.

For controlled substances, refills must follow state and federal prescribing regulations and may require a scheduled visit.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.

Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a cancellation fee. This policy helps ensure appointment times remain available for other patients who may be waiting for care.
